Automated Creative Partner With Contagious On “Advertisers Watching Ads” Series to Bring New Ads Into the Conversation
Our weekly series on ads and what brands can learn from them has been featuring a number of advertisers discussing the latest marketing campaigns and dissecting what’s good and bad about them. We’re now excited to power up the conversation with our new series partner, Contagious, who will be choosing our weekly ads.
Contagious offers a creative and strategic intelligence service to brands, helping them develop innovative marketing that’s fresh and compelling. Along with practical insights, they also provide inspiration for marketing campaigns and are ideally placed to pick interesting and thought-provoking ads to dissect.
On Advertisers Watching Ads, we do just that, thanks to a panel of expert marketers from around the industry. Every week, we’ve been picking an ad to evaluate, from what’s good and bad about it to what brands can learn from it and from our panelists’ advice.
Contagious picked our most recent episode’s topic: IKEA’s new ScrapsBook ad, where the well-known furniture giant is taking its first steps into teaching its customers about sustainable food behaviours. It was a great opportunity to look at how brands can engage with customers not just to sell products, but also to form a stronger bond by taking them along on their sustainability journey.
Other AWA episodes included a review of Sting’s musical collaboration with the World Down Syndrome’s Day campaign, where we looked at why brand should “sweat the details” when they create an ad to make sure it travels well. We also cast a critical eye on KFC’s unusual campaign to borrow other brands’ slogans, wondering if brands have done enough when they’re fun and creative, or whether they need to go further to give their campaign more substance.
Join us weekly on Advertisers Watching Ads to see the next clips picked by Contagious and dissected by our brand experts.
