We formed Automated Creative three years ago and since then, we’ve been experimenting with artificial intelligence to research, generate and optimise through the funnel advertising. 

AI allows humans to do what they are good at and vice versa. Us humans are best at focussing on complex subjective tasks that take time. AIs are great at lots of simple, small jobs that need to be done at scale. 

One of the most exciting areas we’ve started to grow is DIY AI, via our self-service tool called CREATOR. We give brands a log in to our technology that allows them to create ads at scale, upload them and provide first party data into why the ads worked. Simple. 

This is being used by brands like Feelunique and Unilever - here’s how it works in Feelunique’s case. 

CREATOR will generate a succession of paid social adverts on Facebook and Instagram, with the aim of driving traffic from these ads to feelunique.com, resulting in increased awareness. traffic and conversions at a time when footfall to brick and mortar retail stores remains lower than usual levels. 

CREATOR will allow Feelunique to auto generate a range of static and video assets as well as generate new copy routes at scale, all managed with its in-house team. Feelunique will statistically test different strategic hypotheses, visual themes, messaging triggers and language styles as well as different media buys to discover which are most effective at resulting in driving traffic to feelunique.com.

We’ll provide first party data around the emotional triggers that drive performance, allowing Feelunique to adapt future creative work to become more effective.

All of this means that instead of generic direct product ads that follow consumers around the internet, by using AI we’re able to tailor content to fit each person’s specific need. 

We know that a more personalised approach works, and by combining AI technology with human empathy, we’re able to both improve online sales performance and uncover new insights about the Feelunique audience.
